Meet Our Veterinary Technicians

One of our goals here at the Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and pet care.

Our team of veterinary technicians are all committed to CRVC’s mission statement to uphold high standards of patient care and client communication. Our technicians are responsible for assisting our doctors with diagnostics, treatments, and surgery. They also play a vital role in communicating and educating our clients about their pets.

Our technicians are all cross trained to work in various areas of the clinic. They are trained to work one-on-one with the doctor during procedures requiring anesthesia. They are responsible for monitoring our patients through prep, procedure, and recovery. They are responsible for the comfort of your pet during their stay in the hospital. They perform follow up calls checking on our patients after a procedure, answering any questions and reporting any concerns to the doctors. Behind the scenes they perform blood draws, in-house diagnostic labs, fluid therapy administration, IV catheter placement, and treatments. They work with the doctors in the exam rooms, they obtain medical history, perform requested diagnostics, restrain the patient, administer appropriate treatments, gather prescribed medications and record the doctor’s findings in the medical record. Clients can also schedule surgery appointments with them.

Keeping our skills up to date is a critical process - training is very important to CRVC. We have team meetings on a regular basis to discuss policy, protocol, new equipment, services, and products and our technicians are required to complete 10 hours of continuing education yearly. They have the opportunity to attend veterinary continuing education seminars, where the latest techniques and skills are taught. Our team is continuously educated through continuing education lectures and in clinic meetings. This is to provide our clients and patients with the best health and long life. They are an indispensable asset to our team and take pride in their essential role at CRVC.

Allison grew up on a farm in Honesdale, surrounded by goats, pigs, cows, and a plethora of other animals, large and small. She started in 4-H at the age of five and participated in FFA in high school. Over the years, Allison always knew she wanted to work in the veterinary industry, and she’s thrilled to be living her lifelong dream!

At home, Allison has a blue heeler named Zoey, who enjoys doing barn chores with her. When she’s not busy working, studying, or attending class, Allison enjoys exercising, playing sports (soccer or wrestling primarily), or participating in outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, skiing, and kayaking.

    Haley K. C.V.T.

Growing up, Haley’s family fostered countless animals from all kinds of horrible situations, including multiple dogs from kill shelters. She learned at a young age the damage humans can cause by neglecting their animals and how much of a difference someone can make in their lives by simply never giving up on them. Drawing on this, Haley decided to dedicate her life to helping pets live their best lives.

After graduating from Johnson College, Haley completed her internship at Cherry Ridge and
became such an integral part of the team that she decided to stay. As a certified veterinary
technician, Haley enjoys performing dental prophies and providing relief to pets suffering from
oral health issues. She also enjoys parasitology and educating clients about how to best care
    for their animal family members.

At home, Haley has two sweet dogs of her own, Penny and Bowser, who are the best of friends
and love hiking and exploring with their fur-mom. In her spare time, Haley enjoys doing things
    outside, preferably with her pups.

    Jeffrey C.

Jeff has always had a passion for medicine, which initially led him to a career working with
human patients. In early 2020, shortly before COVID hit, he decided it was time to take a break
and change gears. He figured maybe he’d give four-legged patients a try. Turns out, it was a
great decision, and the rest is history! Despite the fact that Jeff’s career change occurred rather recently, he was no stranger to the veterinary field.

As a teenager, he worked at a local clinic mopping floors and cleaning cages. Looking back, he recalls the experience fondly and is happy to have returned to his roots, this time as a veterinary technician. Professionally, Jeff has a special interest in microbiology, parasitology, and client education.

Outside of the clinic, Jeff and his sister share a dog, Brady, who hates being alone, enjoys car
rides, and loves to watch for any unusual activity on the property. Nothing makes Brady happier
than when someone arrives home after work. In addition to being a veterinary technician, Jeff is
also a registered nurse and certified personal trainer. He enjoys physical fitness, reading literary
    fiction, and watchmaking

    Kaitlin D.

When Kaitlin was eleven years old, she decided she wanted to work in the veterinary field. She’d grown up riding horses and would watch with fascination whenever the vet would come out to administer care. She fell in love with the idea of helping animals and spent the next several years learning and gaining as much hands-on experience as possible.

Kaitlin’s professional journey began in 2018 when she received her bachelor’s degree in veterinary medical technology from Wilson College. She spent about a year in Chambersburg working at a large and small animal practice before moving back to the area in 2023 and joining Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic. Kaitlin’s favorite part of the job is seeing puppies and kittens and watching them grow.

At home, Kaitlin resides with her boyfriend and their multitude of pets, including two cats (Teeter and Colby), two dogs (Petey and Capone), two rabbits (Nala and Simba), a flock of chickens,
and a hamster named Peanut. Petey loves to join Kaitlin for weekend hikes and kayaking, Peanut enjoys learning new tricks for apples, and Teeter likes to go for walks on her harness

    Krista S.

Krista’s passion for animals began at a very young age. Her dog, Chelsea, was her loyal companion up until she passed at age 13. Even in her grief, Krista knew at that moment that without a dog to love and care for, her life simply wouldn’t be the same. As she grew older,
Krista turned that love of animals into a fulfilling career.
Initially, Krista started out as a surgical technologist, which landed her a job as a technician in
labor and delivery. From there, she decided on the role of veterinary technician, and the rest is
    history.

Krista worked at several other clinics before finding what she hopes is her forever home at Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic in August of 2022. Professionally, she enjoys being hands-on and learning new things.
Outside of work, Krista is dog-mom to a Great Pyrenees mix named Heaven, and a border collie
mix named Buck, both of whom are her pride and joy. Heaven is the queen of the house and
Buck is like that annoying little brother that you can’t get rid of, but deep down you really love him.

    Tracey D. C.V.T.

Growing up, Tracey had two favorite things: science and animals. She remembers accompanying her mother to the vet with the family cats and being absolutely mesmerized watching the veterinarian and support staff work. She had an inkling, even back then, that one
day she’d follow in their footsteps and help animals for a living! After earning her degree in visual communications, Tracey was offered a job managing the
marketing department for a top-ranked pet care company in Hollywood, CA. While it was a fun
and exciting experience, after a few years, Tracey came to the realization that she’d never be truly happy until she pursued her life’s passion.

She enrolled in Mt. San Antonio College and
became a certified veterinary technician. She then spent several years gaining hands-on experience with various emergency clinics. In September 2023, after relocating to the area with her husband to be closer to family, Tracey joined the Cherry Ridge family, and the rest is history. Professionally, she enjoys client
education and helping pet owners understand their companions’ diagnoses so they can properly
care for them. She also has a special interest in animal behavior and enrichment.

At home, Tracey is happily married and “mom” to four dogs: a German shepherd named Nico, a
terrier/Chihuahua mix named Owen, a Pit bull mix named Bear, and a poodle/Chihuahua mix
named Danny. Tracey’s hobbies include photography, hiking with her pups, and spending quality
time with her niece and nephew. Since moving to Pennsylvania, she’s also taken up fishing

    Valerie G. C.V.T.

Valerie may have grown up as an only child, but she had plenty of dogs who made her life complete. This fostered a deep and lasting love for animals that, coupled with her fascination for medicine, made a career in the veterinary field the logical choice. Being able to combine both of her passions and be an advocate for the voiceless makes every day worthwhile for Valerie!

While attending school, Valerie worked at a small practice as a receptionist before moving on to
an emergency hospital where she worked as a veterinary assistant. After graduating with her
degree in veterinary nursing, she worked as an emergency and critical care technician for several years before joining Cherry Ridge Vet clinic in September of 2020.  Clinically, Valerie has a special interest in emergency & critical care, and endocrinology, and given her background, has a knack for handling urgent care situations.

At home, Valerie lives with her husband, their daughter and two quirky, loving German Shepherds named Arlo and Ryker. When she’s not busy at work or tending to her family (two-legged and four), Valerie enjoys hiking, kayaking, exploring new places, and traveling.
