An important member of our team is our Laboratory Technician, who is able to perform these diagnostic tests for our veterinarians while your pet is being treated on an outpatient or hospitalized basis. Our laboratory equipment makes your pet's test results available quickly, allowing immediate treatment for sick patients. Laboratory testing is an integral part of veterinary diagnostics, as it provides our vets with vital diagnostic information, as well as the ability to perform pre-anesthetic blood panel determining whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo anesthesia and surgery. We process pre-anesthetic tests, which are necessary in pets over the age of seven before they undergo surgery and in emergency cases. We also perform wellness tests to determine to underlying illness and set a baseline for the patient to reference in the future.
Our team also works with outside laboratories for performing a variety of different testing. These outside laboratories include IDEXX, the nation’s premier veterinary diagnostic laboratory, Cornell University, Michigan State, Kansas State Lab, and VARL.
